Welcome to Urban Bike Project, INC
We are a not-for-profit bicycle shop located in Wilmington, Delaware with a focus on education and mechanical self-reliance.  We have a full compliment of shop quality tools and provide educational programs and mechanical assistance to City of Wilmington residents and youth in need.

 

Announcements:

 

A note to donors of bicycles. Please do not leave donations outside the shop!!! Instead drop any bikes or parts off during our open hours. We may be able to arrange a pickup if it is not convenient for you to drop off.

Bruce brought in a cake! UBP officially opened shop at 1908 N Market St in March of 2008. It's time for a big thank you to our volunteers, donors and friends. As a result of your hard work and dedication many children are riding safer bikes and learning valuable mechanical skills. Adults in Wilmington now have access to tools, instruction and affordable used parts/bikes, and our Free Bike Program is available to those with little or no income. In 2009 we look forward to working with you to create a comprehensive Youth Earn-A-Bike Program, provide a wide array of instructional classes and just plain help more kids and adults ride and learn about bikes!

3-speed Hub Class

Ever wondered what goes on inside a 3-speed hub? Now's your chance to find out! On Monday, February 16, Steve will be leading a demonstration and introduction to the inner workings of these mysterious devices. Prepare to be amazed as Steve troubleshoots common 3-speed issues before delving deep within gear city.
